The Deaf Native American activist, Sarah Young-Bear Brown, from Iowa should NOT be part of the performance, Native Land, Native Hands, what is the story of Douglas Tilden and Young-Bear. She is not a California Mission Indian and her participation in this performance violates native territorial tradition.

She does NOT represent us, and she is against Douglas Tilden's Bear Hunt Statue. As an enrolled member of Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians in the Kumeyaay Nation in California, I support the Bear Hunt Statue at California School for the Deaf in Fremont.

I, along with other California Mission Indians, fought to protect the statue as it represents the beauty between man and nature and the struggle natives faced with wildlife. We believe there is nothing wrong with it.

We ask that Sarah Young-Bear Brown respectfully step down and honor our territory and tradition.

Please join me in boycotting the performance.
