I, like many others, find myself deeply invested in the realm of gaming. The Xbox GamePass Ultimate has become an integral part of my entertainment, offering a vast selection of games I often find myself immersed in. However, the proposed price increase of this service to $60 a month, translating to $720 a year, is a vast and unfeasible leap from the current $20 per month. It not only affects my personal enjoyment, but also the wallets of countless gaming enthusiasts around the globe. 

If this change takes effect, the price increase will make Xbox GamePass Ultimate far less accessible for a majority of users. With this proposed pricing, we might as well be purchasing new games every month, turning the idea of a "pass" quite redundant. Even a compromise to a $30-35 monthly fee would be more digestible, but $60 may turn what we see as an opportunity into an unaffordable luxury.

In 2020, the Xbox GamePass had 18 million subscribers worldwide. A significant jump in price could plummet these numbers, causing Xbox to lose a significant number of devoted and passionate members of their community (Source: Microsoft 2021). This would very possibly make Xbox Gamepass a dead service.

In light of these points, the call to action is simple: We, the dedicated gaming community, plead with Microsoft not to raise Xbox GamePass Ultimate to $60 a month. Xbox, keep gaming accessible. Keep the GamePass affordable. Show understanding and solidarity with your gaming community. Please sign this petition to help fight against the proposed price increase.
