This is an issue that needs to be brought to the attention of those in power who have the ability to make the changes to the broken system. We cannot be silent just because in the case of the Jackson Williams our voices were not heard. It may seem at times a fruitless effort. I have felt that many a time, especially when I was informed the DPP were not going to appeal his case. I felt let down and helpless!
If we do not do this then these attacks on Women will continue to happen, which unfortunately we can never put an end to. These predators will always be walking amongst us lurking and waiting. But what we can do is fight the system that repeatedly allows these known offenders to walk amongst us!!
When these cases go through the court process and one by one these predators are removed from our streets, then 2 things will happen. 1. It will be one less sexual predator that we have to be worried about being out there and 2. We send a crystal clear message to these predators..... we will find you, we do not tolerate your behaviour and you will GO. TO. JAIL.
This petition now acts as a fight for women being given more protection by the system that repeatedly lets down the victims.
We need to bring to the attention of our new Attorney-General Jacyln Symes the new offence the Grab and Drag that Stuart Grimley has proposed. Stuart is an ex-police officer who worked on many a sexual assault case and said that he saw a gap that needed to be filled to make it easier to prosecute those who commit these crimes. The gap being between Common Assualt and Sexual Assualt. So if at any time a lady is grabbed off the streets and dragged and we all know the intention of the attacker, well that in itself will be a prosecutable crime and it will come with a maximum sentence of 15yrs.
It's a great start!! Let's get this done!!

It will be a group of like-minded people who share the same sentiment that Enough is Enough. It will be a place for our voices to be heard and to be informed on what we can do and when we need to do it.
