I am writing to express my concern regarding the closure of public toilets (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T7, T8) during the day along the 5km stretch along the popular walking track the Bay Trail along side Dromana foreshore through to McCrae with only one toilet being opened all year round which is at the Dromana Pier Access to clean and accessible public toilets is essential for the well-being and comfort of residents and visitors alike.  I, along with the undersigned members of our community, kindly request that the local council reconsider this decision and keep the public toilets open during the day.

Public toilets serve as a fundamental amenity for many individuals, including children, the elderly, and those with medical conditions and worker’s that require frequent restroom access. By closing these facilities during the day, we not only inconvenience the public but also potentially compromise their health and dignity.

We understand that budget constraints and maintenance issues might influence this decision. However, we believe that alternative solutions can be explored to address these concerns, such as increasing the frequency of maintenance, utilizing volunteer efforts, or collaborating with local shire to share the responsibility.

Therefore, we respectfully urge the local Foreshore Committee maintain public toilet accessibility during daytime hours. Doing so will enhance the quality of life in our community, support local businesses, and promote tourism and overall well-being.
