Pleasanton Mayor Karla Brown has met with Christine Beitsch-Bahmani, CEO of the merged nonprofit CityServe of the Tri-Valley. I do not have details regarding what was discussed or agreed to at this meeting. The FAQ's posted on the City website has been updated (3rd time) regarding the results of the Town Hall meeting on September 27th and this meeting. Below is the most recent success in regards to our petition.
" Community feedback has led to the permanent discontinuation of the pilot shower program at the Senior Center. City staff and CityServe of the Tri-Valley will work to find alternative locations for this service. "

We are still requesting a written public "Service Agreement" with CityServe stating our requests, which were summarized in the petition cover letter to Mayor Brown and the City Council.
Unfortunately the City is still supporting that the Friendly Visiting Program was never discontinued, even though CityServe posted the Coordinator job position on their website and recently hired. I am sad to say most of the volunteers and seniors who participated in this 40 year program were never contacted by CityServe. An unfortunate management decision by CEO Christine Beitsch-Bahmani and a huge disservice to our senior community!
We are still receiving signatures to the online petition, please pass it on and thank you for your ongoing support.
