Dear Mayor Brown and City Council Members:

Please see attached petition to “Keep the Senior Center for Seniors”. This document has been signed by approximately 400 concerned citizens, stating immediate discontinuation of any Homeless Services, at the Pleasanton Senior Center Building.

Per Community input at the Senior Center Town Hall Meeting on September 27th we are requesting, in writing, the following to be added to the Service Agreement with CityServe of the Tri-Valley for In-Kind office space at the Plesanton Senior Center.

1.    Permanent discontinuation of all in-person Homeless services provided by the nonprofit CityServe of the Tri-Valley or any other entity, at the Pleasanton Senior Center.

2.    Permanent discontinuation of any “pilot shower program” provide by the nonprofit CityServe of the Tri-Valley or any other entity, at the Pleasanton Senior Center.

3.    Only Senior Programs (60 years or older) to be performed at the “in-kind” office space, provided by the City of Pleasanton to nonprofit CityServe of the Tri-Valley.

4.    Above documentation along with detailed programs offered by the nonprofit CityServe of the Tri-Valley to be written into the current Service Agreement with the City of Pleasanton for in-kind office space. Current Service Agreement with nonprofit CityServe of the Tri-Valley to be made available in public minutes.

Please answer who will be evaluating this new nonprofit’s performance? Recently a Senior, from Ridgeview Common, went to the office for Case Management and was told to drive to their Livermore office, where she was then told someone would get back to her. This is not acceptable!
