A little over 2 days later and we have 242 signatures!  The petition against the dog park has taken over a year to gather 89 signatures (link below).  Thank you so much for supporting dog parks in Irvine.  It has a positive impact and helps remind our City that we exist in large numbers, just like a squeaky wheel.  Lets keep "squeaking" up until the project is complete!

First up is the City of Irvine's website for the project has been restored.  Can't ethically imply what that means, but it is back up.  Over the weekend I reached out to everyone I know at the City, not expecting a reply until Monday.  I went to City Hall on Monday morning and was greeted with floor protectors leading up to where Community Services and Public Works office.  The remodel looks to be moving along nicely.  However, it makes dropping in and seeing someone in those departments a waste of time.  My contacts are beginning to reply back and as I get more information you can expect me to share that via our email newsletter at Irvine Dog Parks Association (IDPA) and eventually our website as I get more time (http://www.irvinedogparks.com).

The next steps we can take to help our cause are based around the concept of being better at being squeaky.  Our next IDPA newsletter will include contact information for the various people at the City of Irvine and a plan to keep a schedule for squeaking up until the project to move to the new dog park at Oak Creek Community Park is done.  Squeaking can be emails, calls, and meeting with our elected representatives, and City administrators.  Lets be the best squeakers we can be!

See you at Dog Disneyland (Irvine Central Bark)
