Several Malden High School classes worked together to create a community garden through the course of the 2021-2022 school year. Now, the City of Malden is discussing moving a nearby historical building and replacing the community gardens we made, along with a previously student-built Tiny House in the same area.

Sign this petition to prevent the moving of the historical building on our school's property so we can protect our limited Green space (areas reserved for natural uses) at Malden High School. Moving the historical building will not only require the demolition of the Tiny House and 14 garden beds, it will also take up a majority of the green space we have; green space is important because it helps preserve our environment, and promotes involvement within our community. The community gardens offer hands-on experiences for the Malden High School students, especially for those who are interested in pursuing environmental educational and career paths for their future.
