Keep the Existing Knights of Columbus Regalia

Since the establishment of the Patriotic Degree in 1900, the Color Corps have provided honor guards for religious and civic functions, an activity that has brought worldwide recognition to the Knights of Columbus. Sir Knights are distinguishable by their official regalia of tuxedos, capes, chapeaux, and swords.
Unfortunately, Supreme Knight Carl Anderson announced at the Knights’ 135th annual international convention in St. Louis, Mo. "The Board of Directors has decided that the time is right for a modernization of the Fourth Degree uniform.”
As an organization steeped in tradition, the existing regalia has become a unique and iconic symbol for the visible presence of our Order, whereas the modern uniform appears to blend in with similar-looking uniforms worn by the Legion, Cadets, and Salvation Army.
The intent of this petition is to implore the Board of Directors and Supreme Knight Carl Anderson to reconsider the consequence of this proposed change and keep the existing regalia of the Fourth Degree Assemblies that the Knights of Columbus and the rest of the world has come to recognize and love.
