Keep the 9.15am Sunday Yoga Class at Fitness First Richmond

The issue

We are a dedicated group of yoga practitioners who have gathered many times a week at Fitness First Richmond, creating a meaningful community for the past 10 years (at least). The Group Fitness Manager had promised that well-established classes would remain the same during the gym's relocation on 25th June 2024. However, to our surprise, the new timetable has replaced our much-loved Sunday 9.15am yoga class with another class. We got turned away from the class as it is full sometimes.

This decision has disappointed and discouraged our group, ~25 regular participants. This decision also means that it consequently disrupts our health routine and community.

The Sunday morning yoga class is not just a physical exercise for us; it is a therapeutic, mindful practice that fosters a supportive community. Cancelling this class feels like an attempt to disrupt this positive community. The manager previously cancelled two other yoga classes. This act contradicts the essence of yoga – unity, well-being, and a sense of being part of something bigger than ourselves.

We ask Fitness First Richmond to retain the Sunday 9.15am yoga class in the new timetable. Upholding this routine would mean respecting the essence of yoga, our commitment to our health, and our unity as a community. Please sign this petition to voice your support and to remind Fitness First Richmond that yoga is more than just a class for us; it's a lifeline.
