Im only 16 and im studying animal sciences to help prevent the destruction of this world and help animals fight for their home and a chance to live alongside us. All adults that try to destroy our land for their own interests and money gain are disgusting. I want a future where children won't have to go to zoos to only see ai versions of animals because the real ones were driven to extinction due to our own greed.
As a fifteen year old who lives in this country, it’s not fair that those who have already experienced their lives! What about us? Don’t we deserve a future??
As someone who lived in a small town where droughts already meant our water ran brown, this country cannot handle the environmental impacts of data centres. They are unnecessary and will only harm the day to day living of every person in this nation. It is a waste of resources and money and will worsen the problems already present in this nation. I am 20. I am already concerned for my future in this country and the idea of data centres chewing through our resources only worsens it.
Since the red waste bin has been change to weekly i now have nowhere to put my child’s used nappies and my animals waste even when the red bin was weekly we had and issues with have at least one bag that would not fit now we have an overflow of rubbish
So we are are paying an estimated $100 + per year to have an extra bin, that simply allows more general waste to go to landfill on the same schedule, rather than reducing it.<br>
If the goal is genuinely less landfill, a bigger bin collected just as rarely doesn't achieve that! It just means the same or more rubbish going to landfill per household.
Residents are being asked to absorb the practical, financial, and hygiene cost of a decision that primarily protects council's budget. VicGov required Baw Baw to only provide access to FOGO not to cut general waste in half. Council chose the cheaper option for itself, justified it with an unverifiable statistic, gave residents no meaningful say, and then charged the households who can't cope -those with children, elderly relatives, medical needs, or larger families — an extra annual fee to fix a problem council's own choice created. The people least able to adapt (for reasons entirely outside their control) are the ones paying most for a decision they didn't make and weren't meaningfully asked about.
This once a fortnight red bin collection is so unhygienic for families I've already got a build up of rubbish and mice. Already tried to apply for extra bin was willing to pay the cost but because I leave in public housing my application was denied and I would have to get housing to apply. I'm a single mother with a 3 children one being a toddler and one with a medical condition, so the baw baw council better start listening to the residents and change red bins back to weekly coz I don't need stress when I already have anxiety 🤬😠🖕🏾
