Dear Stagecoach

We, the undersigned, are perplexed at your proposal to revert the S5 service to stop at all stops down the Banbury road to and from Oxford.  This is not an improvement, quite the opposite, it is a huge step backwards.  This has also happened without any consultation with your regular passengers.  No email communication, just an article in the Oxford Mail.  This makes us think you don't want to go backwards, you would prefer to keep this service as limited stop.  Why aren't you?

The limited stop S5 buses improved the work/life balance of all its regular passengers as the average travel time was reduced from over one hour to approximately 40 minutes.  This also benefited the drivers as they were able to then take their breaks and not rush off to do their next circuit as they often ran extremely late during the rush hours.

We urge you to reconsider reverting back to stopping at every stop along the route.  There are numerous buses that service this route that stop at all stops; namely the 2, 2A, 300 800, 900.  The 700 service connects the route to the hospitals at the Summertown shops stop.

There are many who feel that if you insist on putting the S5 service back to stopping at all stops, that they will no longer use the service and will either take the train or their car.  The latter option is against all advice as the government is wanting less cars on the road.  So Stagecoach will be adding to the road congestion and subsequent rise in carbon emissions due to increased traffic.
