Over the past season, Maine Spa Club has created a unique wellness experience at Fortunes Rocks Beach that brought together locals, visitors, families, athletes, and cold-water enthusiasts in a positive and respectful way.

The sauna sessions encouraged people to get outdoors, connect with others, embrace healthy recreation, and enjoy our coastline during the quieter months of the year.

We understand and respect the City of Biddeford’s concerns regarding parking and beach use during the busy summer season. That’s why we are asking for a collaborative solution that would allow limited sauna operations only during the offseason (September 15–May 25), when parking demand and beach congestion are significantly lower.

We believe offseason sauna access can:

Promote health and wellness
Encourage safe outdoor recreation
Support local tourism and nearby businesses
Activate the beach responsibly during quieter months
Strengthen community connection during Maine winters
We support working cooperatively with the City of Biddeford to create reasonable guidelines that prioritize safety, access, cleanliness, and respect for the beach environment.
