The Issue

Principal Okumura has brought about many positive changes to our school. When he became the principal of Barbers Point, he took it upon himself to ensure that our students had more than just textbooks and lessons; he wanted them to experience the world around them. Thanks to him, school field trips have been reinstated, allowing students the opportunity for hands-on learning that extends beyond the classroom walls.

Under his leadership, our school embraced the importance of extracurricular activities. Clubs that had long been dormant were revived, sparking joy and a passion for learning in students who might not have found it within a traditional classroom setting. Moreover, Principal Okumura believes in making our school a community where everyone's voice matters. He encourages open dialogue with teachers, students, and parents, ensuring that all perspectives are valued and considered in decision-making processes.

His dedication has transformed Barbers Point into more than just a place of learning; it has become an inclusive community that prioritizes the holistic development of our students. The positive impact he has made cannot be overstated and should not be underestimated.

Despite all these accomplishments, there are discussions about removing Principal Okumura from his post. This potential change threatens to undo the progress made and disrupt the positive environment he has cultivated. We believe that his continued leadership is crucial for our school’s ongoing success and the well-being of the students.

We urge the responsible authorities to recognize Principal Okumura’s profound contributions and allow him to continue his invaluable work at Barbers Point. Please join us in supporting Principal Okumura by signing this petition to keep him as the principal of our beloved school.
