Keep Politics Out of Sandhurst

The issue

SIGN THE PETITION TO KEEP DIVISIVE POLITICS OUT OF OUR LOVELY SANDHURST COMMUNITY

You can also donate to the GoFundMe campaign to raise money for legal action

We know from the polls that over 50% of Australians don’t want a Voice to Parliament.

So… why does Sandhurst Club think it appropriate to make political statements on behalf of residents supporting the Indigenous Industry?

The CEO, in combination with various Committee members and the Board has decided on behalf of ALL residents that Sandhurst will:

·       Permanently fly the Indigenous flag at Sandhurst Club

·       Acknowledge traditional owners of our Sandhurst land by way of a plaque

·       Pay for a smoking and cleansing ceremony with an Indigenous elder using our money

·       Welcoming us to our own country at every opportunity

·       Just like big business telling us what to do – Sandhurst Club wants to dictate to us what to think, and ultimate how to vote in the upcoming referendum

We can see from comments on facebook that this concerns residents, effectively pitting neighbours against each other, so we need to keep divisive politics out of Sandhurst!  This is where we live together as a community and we can’t be a peaceful community when the focus by management is division.

The CEO and Board are pushing their own agenda and not considering those who do not support this.  Instead, they want to ‘re-educate’ those who do not agree.  We need to make them listen, pay attention and reverse this decision to be politically active on this or any other issue.  It is not the residents that need ‘re-education’!

We call on all those who disagree to SIGN THIS PETITION TO KEEP DIVISIVE POLITICS OUT OF SANDHURST.
