Keep our principal Jamie Wolch

Keep our principal Jamie Wolch
The Issue
Since Mr. Jamie Wolch became the principal of Berner Trail Junior Public School, he is truly transforming our community for the better. We have witnessed firsthand the incredible impact he is having on students, teachers, and parents. With his support, we have organized and executed numerous events that have brought the school community closer together.
Mr. Wolch has a remarkable ability to understand the needs of our students and staff. He is introducing more technology into our classrooms, ensuring our students are equipped with the tools they need to succeed in the modern world. But his contributions go far beyond academics. For students facing challenges like bullying or learning difficulties, Mr. Wolch is a beacon of support and guidance.
Mr. Wolch has also worked tirelessly to create a remarkable DD program. Against all odds he never backed down, champions and advocates for the kids who can’t advocate for themselves. Through his leadership the school has become a safe and inclusive environment.
The bonds Mr. Wolch has nurtured within our community are irreplaceable. His departure would not only be a loss to our school but also to the entire community. He is a unifying figure who consistently puts the needs of students and staff first, creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
We believe that maintaining stability in school leadership is crucial, especially during these challenging times when students need a familiar face and a supportive leader. Mr. Wolch has proven himself to be exactly that.
The five-year rotation is a practice, not a policy and there is precedent for exceptions.
The TDSB has cited a five-year principal rotation as the reason for this transfer. But this is not a written policy — it is a practice, and practices exist to serve the institution, not bind it when exceptional circumstances arise.
Last year, Provincial Supervisor Rohit Gupta reversed the transfer of Principal Barrie Sketchley at Rosedale Heights School of the Arts after the community made its voice heard. We are asking for the same consideration.
Jamie has been the most integral member of the Berner Trail community. He supports and encourages his staff through his leadership. He has created a strong and unified system that not only supports his students but their families as well. It is rare to find a principal who is passionate about his school and who truly supports all of its members. Our kids deserve to have Jamie Wolch as their principal. They deserve someone who cares about not only their education, but their well being. We, as their parents and caregivers, refuse to accept this decision without a say of our own. This decision affects our children. We want and deserve the best for our kids, and Jamie Wolch is the best.
We call upon the school board and decision-makers to reassess any decisions about transferring Mr. Wolch and consider the overwhelming positive impact he is having on our school. Please sign this petition to keep Mr. Jamie Wolch at Berner Trail Junior Public School, so that he can continue making a difference in our children's education and lives.
