The Issue

Stop Congressman Randy Fine from turning Florida’s National Forest and State Park lands into the proposed Florida Springs National Park.

The Path to Florida Springs National Park Act- H.R.4656 intends to designate 2,800 square miles of land in North Florida as a National Park. These precious wild areas are already protected and enjoyed by people from all over the country for their untouched ecosystems and natural beauty.

Designating them as a National Park would bring unnecessary development and infrastructure, threaten wildlife habitats, and encourage overuse due to high visitation rates. This would ultimately lead to stricter regulations that would limit the very access and experiences visitors currently enjoy.

This proposal appears to be a profit-driven plan, not a conservation effort. These lands are already under strong stewardship through their current State Park and National Forest designations.

Real protection for Florida’s springs comes from enforcing pollution controls and restricting corporate extraction — not by turning wild spaces into commercialized attractions, which would include new roads, buildings, and fences, as well as large entry fees.
