Over the past few months, we’ve built a small but thriving coffee community around the Curl Curl Netball Courts through our mobile coffee van, Nalu. What started as a simple coffee stop has become a place where locals connect, parents gather during sport, dog walkers stop for their morning coffee, and community members support a small local business.

We have worked hard to operate responsibly and respectfully, including obtaining the required mobile food approvals and complying with council requirements.

Despite this, we have faced ongoing uncertainty around our ability to continue trading at the location long-term. This has made it difficult for us to grow a business that so many locals have come to enjoy and support.

We are asking Northern Beaches Council to support small local businesses by providing a fair and practical pathway for us to continue operating at the Curl Curl Netball Courts on an ongoing basis.

This is about more than coffee. It’s about creating community, supporting local families, encouraging small business, and bringing life and connection to a public space that so many people use every day.

We are incredibly grateful for the support the community has already shown us, and we hope Council will work with us to find a long-term solution that allows Nalu to continue serving the Curl Curl community.
