Keep Mr Wenban as OC of 1053 (Armthorpe) Squadron
The Issue
Mr Wenban has been a pillar of strength and leadership at the 1053 (Armthorpe) Squadron for 13 remarkable years. My son, like countless others, has been significantly influenced by Mr Wenban's dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds. Under his guidance, my son has not only gained invaluable skills but also developed qualities of discipline and leadership that will serve him for life.
Mr Wenban's impact extends beyond individual achievements; he has profoundly shaped the character of hundreds of young air cadets who have come through the squadron. His deep understanding of the squadron ethos, remarkable rapport with both cadets and parents, and his visionary approach have made a substantial difference.
The current regulation mandating that Mr Wenban must rotate to a different squadron merely because of his lengthy service is short-sighted and fails to consider the genuine well-being and continued progress of current and future cadets. The bonds and trust that Mr Wenban has built over these years are irreplaceable and invaluable.
To maintain the quality and continuity of leadership that our children deserve—as well as to honor the immense contributions of Mr Wenban to the squadron—we strongly urge the relevant authorities to reevaluate and reverse this decision. Changing leadership solely based on duration without considering exceptional performance and impact undermines the very principles we wish to instill in our young cadets.
Please support us in this endeavor to retain Mr Wenban as the OC of 1053 (Armthorpe) Squadron, ensuring that the legacy of dedication, inspiration, and skill continues to thrive. Sign this petition to let Mr Wenban stay where he is truly needed. Your action matters!
