The Issue

We are writing to you with heavy hearts and a deep sense of urgency. Mr. Glanville, an incredibly dedicated and inspiring teacher at Char-Lan District High School, has recently been informed that his contract will not be renewed for the upcoming school year.

This decision is devastating for the many students whose lives he has touched. Mr. Glanville has gone far beyond the call of duty to enrich the school community. He has brought passion, energy, and purpose to our school through CLANSTOCK & the Music & Arts program, building something truly special. In just a short time, he has helped launch major musical productions, mentored countless students, and secured approximately $70,000 in grants to help fund this transformative work.

His presence has reignited a spirit of creativity, teamwork, and confidence in students at Char -Lan District High School who otherwise might not have found their voice. Losing him would mean losing far more than a teacher—it would mean the loss of opportunity, momentum, and a vibrant piece of what makes Char-Lan special.

We are urging the administration and decision-makers to reconsider this decision. Mr. Glanville’s work is not finished, and neither is our community’s support for him. We would like Mr. Glanville to be offered a Permanent Position at Char-Lan ; or at the very least be the first Teacher to be offered a position back at Char-Lan this coming Fall.

We are launching a petition to formally express our collective support for Mr. Glanville’s continued role at Char-Lan. Please add your name and help us send a strong, unified message that Mr. Glanville is not only wanted—he is needed.

Mr. Glanville is more than a teacher—he is a mentor, leader, and builder of dreams. He has created opportunities that didn’t exist before and helped students find their voice through theatre, performance, and collaboration. His removal would be a devastating loss to current and future students.

We need to invest in educators who go above and beyond—not let them go. Let’s stand up and show that Mr. Glanville has the full support of the Char-Lan community.
