For over 40 years, Love'n Deuce has been more than just a tennis club to me and over 1,000 others at Talus Street in St Leonards every week. It is a place where friendships are forged, skills are honed, and a community comes together in joyful pursuit of a shared passion. The news that Love'n Deuce will no longer provide its invaluable services after its scheduled eviction by the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council (MLALC) on 30th September 2026 is disheartening and deeply concerning for all who rely on the vibrant community hub it has created.

Love'n Deuce has offered an array of services including tennis coaching, competitions, clinics, corporate events, and children's programs, which have greatly enriched our community. These services are not mere recreational activities; they are educational and social lifelines that foster development, inclusion, and health for individuals and families alike. The absence of Love'n Deuce will leave a significant void, especially for young people who gain so much from its programs.

The NSW Government, MLALC, Tennis Australia, local council representatives, and community leaders need to recognise the vital role that Love’n Deuce plays in our area. By working together, they can find a solution to keep this cherished service alive. Whether through negotiating a new lease, finding alternative locations, or providing municipal support, there are tangible actions that can be taken to prevent our community from losing this treasured asset.
