The NMRSD has made the decision the cut the library program from all elementary and middle schools in our district.

There are many reasons why our librarians are so important and an integral part of students learning today.  As our world and students become more technology driven, students need to be learning how to navigate this digital world.

During library class, our librarians are teaching digital literacy, safety & security, privacy and being able to distinguish between fake and credible information & facts found through digital sites.

These skills are needed more right now as our students become more addicted to social media sites and their phones in general.

Losing our library program will leave an enormous gap in educating our students how to navigate the digital world they are growing up in.

Please sign this petition to show our district leaders that cutting this program is not what we want.
