The Issue

In 1993, LCCTC was a pivotal institution in my life, helping me and countless others graduate high school. During my final two years, the school offered a daycare on-site, ensuring that teen parents, like myself, could continue our education without interruption. This support enabled us to not only obtain our high school diplomas but also secure degrees in trades, preparing us comprehensively for the workforce, especially when college wasn't an option.

Though the daycare facilities have since closed, LCCTC remains a beacon of hope and opportunity for students by providing vocational training that prepares them for immediate entry into the workforce upon graduation. Trade skills are in high demand, and LCCTC continually updates its curriculum to match industry needs, ensuring that students have viable career paths.

It's imperative that we keep LCCTC open to continue this legacy of empowerment, support, and practical education. Closing it would not only deprive future generations of a promising start but would also hinder our community's economic growth.

According to various studies, vocational education increases employment rates and boosts student confidence, making institutions like LCCTC invaluable. The success stories that emerge from these programs often lead to industry innovation and economic stability.

Let's ensure that LCCTC can continue to serve as a cornerstone in education, providing practical skills and learning opportunities to our youth. Together, we can advocate for education that meets varied interests and needs, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Sign this petition to urge local authorities and decision-makers to keep LCCTC open for the benefit of our community and future generations.
