In hallways, in every corner, near bathrooms and even in the plazas there is trash laying around—from paper cups and plastic spoons to candy wrappers; they continue to be a sight for sore eyes, they cause damage to our environment and discomfort to students and teachers alike. Lack of discipline is one, but not the only thing to blame for this issue; another would be the insufficiency of proper systems to dispose of these trash such as trash bins. In areas where there are trash bins one can observe the oveflow of trash as there is either only one trash bins or that there is simply too much trash to handle, and this isn't even considering proper segregation. 

        Improper management of waste within school grounds negativity impacts students and teachers as in some cases they're forced to take time off of their schedules just so that the amount of trash laying. around doesn't get too out of hand. This won't stop here, the improper management of waste will continue to negatively impact students and teachers potentially causing distraction and discomfort, a negative perception of the learning environment leading to a lack of motivation in students and even reduced cognitive function in the worst case. 

       As students we must ensure that we make the most of our time here at school, we should make every second count and see to it that we fullfil our responsibilities as students. As such this petition isn't simply about asking to clean our schools but it is asking that we, as students take responsibility and maintain the very place we come to learn in, this petition is asking us to keep our school in the most optimum condition for us to learn in because if we don't then n one will, this petition is asking for us to...keep it clean.
