Keep industrial solar farm away from Neenach and Joshua Heights

Keep industrial solar farm away from Neenach and Joshua Heights
The Issue
As residents and visitors to the community of Neenach and Joshua Heights CA, we are strongly opposed to large-scale industrial solar development within the community. Located in close proximity to the Tejon Ranch, these projects are highly visible, will NOT create lasting local jobs and WILL have a negative impact on:
Wildlife
Air Quality
The View Shed
Water Resources
Native Soils , joshua trees ,junipers, ect
Property Values
Tourism and the Local Economy - (poppy season -PCT)
We support the community in their efforts to reverse a decision by County of Kern Board of Supervisors granting a permit for The Garland Solar Project with no any consent from the residents and to oppose any future permits for The Recurrent Energy Solar Project or any other future project within the community proximity
we dealing with Recurrent Energy - they are the Garland and Astoria project owners -
Garland project just been approved with no any consent from the residents
RE try to approve their destructive project all the way to Los Angeles Aqueduct rd to the west and that what we really fighting against!!
We cannot accept that the necessity for renewable energy must be at the sacrifice of our beautiful desert and its surrounding communities! We support distributed rooftop solar in the built environment as the most environmentally, culturally and economically responsible alternative that will replace the need for these destructive projects that endanger the environment and the well-being of our local community.
We do not want industrial solar farms sited on pristine desert land or in residential areas. Why not put solar on roof tops? Once the desert is disturbed, the bio-system is degraded to the point of no return.
Health issues, such as valley fever and asthma are real concerns for the very young and older populations.
Solar also uses huge amounts of water which is a concern not only during drought years, but anytime.
It is proven that solar farms do not bring jobs to our area.Skilled labor is brought in from the outside and after the farms are constructed, there are just a few low paying jobs.
View sheds are ruined. Once constructed, the wide open vistas are lost forever.
Stop these short sighted projects now. We need the Board of Supervisors to Kern and Los Angeles Counties will listen to the majority.
