Keep Hampden Hollow & Braxton Way zoned to Centennial Elementary

Keep Hampden Hollow & Braxton Way zoned to Centennial Elementary
The Issue
The proposed rezoning of Hampden Hollow and Braxton Way away from Centennial Elementary School is a change that would profoundly impact our community and the quality of education. As a member of this community, I see first-hand the potential ripple effects of such a decision and its consequences on Centennial Elementary.
This change is not just about numbers—it’s about the heart and soul of our school community. Reducing over 100 students from our student body will likely impact teacher retention, as fewer students might lead to cuts in teaching positions. This, in turn, could increase class sizes, deteriorating the personalized attention and quality of education every child deserves. Our specials classes, which include music, art, and physical education, would be tremendously affected, limiting students’ opportunities to explore and develop their talents outside the standard curriculum.
Moreover, with new neighborhoods being built in our community, Centennial Elementary currently handles our existing population well, but adjusting the zoning now can lead to underutilization of our school's facilities, leaving considerable empty spaces and wasting resources that could otherwise foster community engagement and educational growth.
By signing this petition, you are standing up for the continuity and future success of our children’s education. Let local authorities know that the proposed rezoning decision must be reconsidered to ensure that our community does not lose the vibrant and supportive environment that Centennial Elementary provides. We need your support to keep Hampden Hollow and Braxton Way zoned to Centennial Elementary. Please sign this petition to help protect the educational unity of our community.
