Keep Whangaparāoa’s Green Spaces (KWGS) releases Animal Issues Video

Keep Whangaparāoa’s Green Spaces (KWGS) has today launched a YouTube video on our KWGS Channel to better inform both current supporters and a wider audience of concerns about the future of Green Space on the Whangaparāoa Peninsula, the closure of the Gulf Harbour Country Club (GHCC) and golf course and its impact on local businesses and the wider community.

Our latest video gives an insight into how rodents are being controlled all across the Peninsula. Forest and Bird have been overseeing a program of work which is largely undertaken by an army of volunteers; mostly unseen. The Gulf Harbour Country Club land is covered by a solid network of pest control devices and are serviced to best practise standards to control pest animal populations. However, this video also explains how the whole community is needed to increase the effectiveness of rodent control and protect the incredible diversity of bird life that we are so fortunate to enjoy here in Gulf Harbour.
