Keep Forest Heights Country Club pool open through October
The Issue
We've been loyal members of the Forest Heights Country Club, cherishing its facilities and community spirit. However, many of us feel there's a missed opportunity regarding the pool's accessibility. Currently, the pool is open only 3.5 months a year, while membership dues are paid year-round. This limitation isn't fair given the ongoing maintenance of the pool and the persistent warm weather extending well into October. Opening the pool until the end of October, at least on weekends, would significantly enhance the value of our memberships.
The pool is more than just a place to swim. During the sweltering summer months, it becomes a vital source of exercise, entertainment, and socialization for families across our community. By extending its availability, we not only maximize a resource we're already maintaining, but we also offer families more opportunities for healthy activities and community engagement.
Statistically, the average temperatures in our region remain conducive to swimming well into October. Many other clubs with similar climates extend their pool season accordingly. Our club's members would greatly appreciate a comparable extension, especially since the financial and logistical investment in maintaining the pool is already being made.
Moreover, maintaining weekend access through the end of October allows for greater flexibility for families whose schedules are packed with school and work commitments on weekdays. This adjustment will also show that our club listens to its members' needs and values their satisfaction and well-being.
We've witnessed how impactful and enjoyable our pool facility is for everyone involved. Broadening its accessibility not only respects the investment all families make in our club but also strengthens our community bonds. We urge the Forest Heights Country Club management to reconsider the current operational calendar of the pool and extend its season.
