Keep Fire Pits/Bonfires in Coronado!

The Issue

The Coronado City Council is trying to ban fire pits/bonfires on the beach.  Fire pits have long been a cherished tradition in Coronado, providing opportunities for residents and visitors to gather, socialize, and enjoy our beautiful beaches. These gatherings foster a sense of community and belonging, and the memories created around these fire pits are invaluable.

We believe a blanket ban on fire pits (other than those already located at north beach) is not the solution. Instead, we urge the council to consider alternative measures such as prohibiting fire pits in front of the Shores and/or only allowing smokeless pits in addition to monitoring, and educational campaigns on fire safety.

We respectfully urge the council to reconsider the proposed ban and work with the community to find a solution that balances safety and tradition.
We need your help! Thank you for your attention to this matter.
