The Issue

The board of education is looking at changing FCHS to a seven-period schedule. This change would effect the students who plan to graduate early along with AP classes.

If FCHS were to move to a seven-period schedule, students who planned to graduate in December would no longer be able to due to the fact that they would not be able to gather all of the coursework in time. Some of the AP classes would be removed from the schedules, bringing down student chances of scholarships. Putting FCHS on a seven-period schedule would also increase the amount of stress on students and lower motivation, making them less likely to turn in work on time, show up to school, etc.

This petition is important for anyone who wants to keep their current schedule of four blocks a semester. There are many students that plan on early graduating and/or taking AP classes. If this is taken away then students will only be upset.
