keep eye on parks
The Issue
Help keep parks in the public eye, in Canada :)
CPAWS made news headlines last week with the release of our second annual review of the state of Canada's parks, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,
http://cpaws.org/programs/parks/parksday09.php
on the eve of Canada's Parks Day. Our parks are truly the embodiment of Canada's wilderness soul.
Will you take a moment to make a special gift to CPAWS today to help us continue to protect Canada's wilderness parks?
Your support is critical to CPAWS. With your help, we'll continue to keep wilderness protection in the public eye. We've reported on some great achievements in the past 12 months, like the expansion of Nahanni National Park Reserve, and the end to logging in Manitoba's parks.
But unfortunately, many of our country's parks are under threat.
With your help, CPAWS can continue to speak out against problems like logging in Algonquin Park, unrestricted motorized vehicle use in Alberta's beautiful Castle wilderness, and the lack of true protection in Nova Scotia's Chignecto Game Reserve - home to the threatened Nova Scotia mainland moose.
With your continuing support, we can also achieve more victories like the Nahanni Park Reserve expansion. And we can continue to promote creation of new marine protected areas in magnificent places like the waters of Gwaii Haanas.
Please consider making a special donation today to wilderness conservation and help CPAWS continue its work to protect Canada's wilderness!
Sincerely,
Sherri Watson
President
P.S. - Special Offer: Please consider joining our Wilderness Protection Club by making a monthly contribution. We will send you this commemorative Nahanni booklet (PDF). When you sign up, please indicate that you'd like to support park protection.
P.S.S. - If you haven't already seen it, take a moment to enjoy this video we also produced about the report.
