Keep Emeryville Connected; Stop Neighborhood Access Street Closures!

The Issue

Dear Emeryville Neighbors,

The approval of the 40th Street Multimodal Project will result in the closures of Hubbard, Haven, Watts, and Holden streets, which are vital neighborhood access roads. These CLOSURES will have far-reaching IMPACTS on our COMMUNITY:

- Increased Traffic Congestion: Diverted traffic will worsen congestion on Park Avenue and surrounding streets, where trucks already block lanes for extended periods while maneuvering into tight loading docks.

  • Safety Concerns: More truck traffic on Park Avenue will create unsafe conditions for cars, bikes, and pedestrians.
  • Emergency Vehicle Access: Street closures could delay emergency response times by reducing access to critical neighborhood streets.
  • Impact on Local Businesses: Businesses that depend on convenient customer and delivery access may struggle with increased traffic and restricted routes.

If you share concerns about the broader impacts of these street closures, we invite you to SIGN THE PETITION and advocate for a more balanced approach that considers all community needs.
