The residents of Dixon, CA, chose to live here because we share a common vision: an intimate agricultural community with a small-town feel. We didn't want to live with the suburban mazes, strip malls, and problems that plague many of our fast-growing neighboring communities.

But now, we're facing that future — and we didn't get a say.

Our elected officials and City staff have been tacitly handing over control of the City's growth plans to developers. They propose to more than double the size of the town with suburban housing developments, paving over the agricultural land — and the small-town way of life that comes with it. Our city officials say this is what's best for our town: to change it into something unrecognizable.

But there's still time to act. Many of these proposals are still just that — proposals. If we can make it clear to our elected officials and city staff that this isn't the future we want, we might still have a chance to preserve what we love about this town.
