Our government are trying to decrease speed limits significantly which would impact pretty much every driver in the country. This is a terrible idea and quite frankly a massive cash grab for our politicians. Many people will have to completely change there schedule to obey the new limits, we also must think about delivery drivers and lorry drivers.

They claim it’s for safety and to lower the deaths on the roads, however this is not true. Majority of the time speed isn’t the problem, it’s drunk drivers and incompetent drivers that cause most of the deaths. I would argue lowering speed limits would increase the chance of accidents on our roads due to frustration and dangerous overtaking. A good solution for more safety on our roads, is to fix our roads and properly inforce the current rules.

On top of all that, changing road signs would cost us a large amount of money that could be used for much better causes. 
We must act now before it’s too late and thousands, if not millions gets pumped into this idiotic idea.
