Coach Ross was the Varsity Boys Soccer coach at Guntersville High School for 9 years. He coaches as a volunteer, accepting no payment for the thousands of hours he has given to the school. He is a loved and respected member of the Guntersville community, and he is especially loved by the soccer players and their parents. Last night a fight broke out at the end of a heated rivalry game, and while all the players involved are being suspended, the school administration also forced Coach Ross to resign today. The Guntersville Wildcats are currently ranked #1 in Alabama 5A with a record of 20-3, and the state playoffs start in a week. The school would not even allow him to finish coaching the season before he resigns. This is an incredible disservice to all the players who worked so hard to be in a position to go after a state championship, and it is a terrible way to treat a man who has given so much of his time for free to lead these young men over the years. Show your support for Coach Ross and Guntersville High School soccer by signing this petition which is requesting for Guntersville High School to reinstate Zachary Ross immediately as the Varsity Boys soccer coach. With playoffs in a week, this needs to happen ASAP.
