Keep Assistant Principal Alicia Payne at Pungoteague

Keep Assistant Principal Alicia Payne at Pungoteague
The Issue
In the heart of our vibrant community, Pungoteague Elementary School stands as a pillar of educational excellence and leadership. At the core of this thriving environment is Mrs. Alicia Payne, our dedicated Assistant Principal. Her unwavering commitment and advocacy for our children have made her an integral part of our school family.
Mrs. Payne is not just an administrator; she is a beacon of hope, stability, and inspiration for the students of Pungoteague. Every day, she dedicates herself to ensuring our children have a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment in which they can learn and grow. Whether it’s through her encouraging words, strategic initiatives, or compassionate actions, Mrs. Payne is a constant source of positivity and strength.
Despite the overwhelming support and appreciation from students, parents, and staff, Accomack County Public Schools (ACPS) has made the perplexing decision to transfer Mrs. Payne out of Pungoteague. We, the community, stand united in expressing our opposition to this move. The school board previously made the unfortunate decision to transfer another beloved principal, Dr. Patterson, which left an indelible mark on our school's community. We cannot allow history to repeat itself.
Transferring Mrs. Payne would disrupt the sense of continuity and support that our children rely on daily. Our school’s thriving atmosphere is a testament to her leadership and passion for education. We believe that maintaining her position at Pungoteague is crucial to the continued success and well-being of our students.
We appeal to the school board to reconsider their decision and keep Mrs. Alicia Payne at Pungoteague Elementary School. Her influence is irreplaceable, and her absence would be deeply felt across the entire school community.
Sign this petition to stand in solidarity with us, ensuring that our children continue to benefit from Alicia Payne's exceptional leadership at Pungoteague Elementary School. Together, let’s make our voices heard and stop the unnecessary transfer of a beloved leader.
