Keep Android open

Keep Android open
The Issue
Android was meant to be free—open, flexible, and fully in the hands of its users. Yet over time, Google has tightened its grip, embedding its apps and policies deep into the system, turning choice into control, and freedom into limitation. The promise of a truly open-source Android is fading.
Now, Google proposes a new rule, claiming it will reduce corporate control—but history shows that “security” and “integration” often come at the cost of user freedom. This is not the path to independence. Android should belong to its users, not a corporation dictating what we can or cannot do.
Look at custom ROMs: they are glimpses of what Android could be—stripped of bloatware, fully controllable, and respectful of privacy. These systems demonstrate the potential of true freedom, where users reclaim ownership of their devices.
The future of Android depends on us resisting corporate overreach. It’s time to defend our right to choose, innovate, and control our devices without a gatekeeper. Android can be truly open—but only if we refuse to let Google decide for us.
No more compromises. No more chains. We have to remove Google from the system and reclaim Android—completely, fully, finally
