Keep A&T and UNCG Voting Sites
Keep A&T and UNCG Voting Sites
The Issue
To whom it may concern,
We, the Social Action Coalition at North Carolina A&T, are deeply committed to ensuring fair and accessible elections in our community. With the upcoming meeting of the NC State Board of Elections on December 19th, we find it imperative to address the recent minority plan submitted, which proposes the removal of crucial voting sites, including Barber Park, NC A&TSU, and UNCG.
These sites play a vital role in providing accessible voting options for our diverse population. Removing them, as suggested in the minority plan, could disenfranchise a significant portion of our community. Furthermore, the addition of the Greensboro Coliseum fieldhouse, which is not easily accessible for all, raises concerns about equal voting opportunities.
We request the NC State Board of Elections to carefully consider the impact of these proposed changes on our community's ability to exercise their fundamental right to vote. Preserving familiar and accessible voting locations ensures that all citizens, regardless of background or mobility, can participate in the democratic process without unnecessary barriers.
By signing this petition, we express our support for maintaining Barber Park, NC A&TSU, and UNCG as essential voting sites and emphasize the importance of accessible, inclusive, and equitable voting options for all residents of Greensboro.
Let our voices be heard, and let the State Board of Elections recognize the significance of keeping these vital voting sites intact
