Spring Turkey Season in Ky has been coming in too late for years nows. Most hens are on the nest by the time season opens and the gobblers are not as active or responsive to calling. It makes for a difficult season for most hunters. I understand that we need to make sure that the mating season is successful to ensure a strong population of Turkeys for the future of the species. I feel that the population is very strong. I see larger flocks or turkeys in fields while driving and out hunting. I feel there isn't any reason why it should open as late as it does.
