Katie Hopkins is not welcome in Wimborne!

Katie Hopkins is not welcome in Wimborne!
The Issue
Having lived in Wimborne for over 20 years, I have always treasured the warmth, inclusivity, and unity that defines our community. The charm of our town is not just embodied in its picturesque streets or historic landmarks, but in the values we hold dear: respect, compassion, and diversity.
Our local gem, The Tivoli Theatre, stands as a symbol of these principles, a place where art and culture brings us together, not pulls us apart.
On 2nd July, these values are set to face a significant challenge with the scheduled performance of Katie Hopkins, a figure widely known for her inflammatory and hateful rhetoric, often targeting minority groups and inciting division.
Allowing her to take the stage at The Tivoli is not just an endorsement of her toxic views but a direct contradiction to everything our community stands for.
This is personal. This is my home. As a member of this community, I cannot stand by and watch as a platform is given to a person who thrives on spreading hate, fear, and division.
Katie Hopkins has repeatedly used her platform to voice opinions that many of us find abhorrent. Her presence can potentially harm the social fabric that we have worked so hard to nurture and protect.
It's vital that our town reflects the true spirit of unity and respect, not just in words but in actions. By canceling Katie Hopkins performance, The Tivoli Theatre has a unique opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to these values, sending a clear message that hate has no place in our community. Let us urge the management to take a stand for what is right by revoking her invitation.
Please sign this petition to keep hate off the stage and preserve the integrity of The Tivoli Theatre and our community's core values.
