As we are continue to suffer from the hardships inflicted on us by the Covid-19 pandemic, it becomes increasingly imperative to take steps to protect ourselves and our families from harm. Donald Trump has time and again shown indifference to our suffering, and has in fact taken action in several cases to exacerbate the problem. For this reason, I would petition our governor to ban President Trump from campaigning in Oregon.

Many who read this will accuse me of political bias, but I would remind those who would argue this point to view President Trump's own behavior during this crisis. Since he has demonstrated nothing but contempt for wearing masks, social distancing, or taking any step to mitigate the damage inflicted on this nation by the coronavirus, a campaign rally in Oregon represents a risk many of us cannot afford to take. We lack leadership or an organized federal response to this crisis, and therefore have to take the initiave in keeping ourselves and our family safe. Trump's presidential rallies serve as a textbook example of every behavior we should be desperately trying to avoid. Governor Brown, I would humbly ask that you prevent our president from planning super-spreader events in our great state as he has done in others.
