Allow students to learn from home: No ban - Lets plan

Allow students to learn from home: No ban - Lets plan

The Issue

NO BAN - LETS PLAN

On June 10th, based on the recommendation by Dr. B. N. Gangadhar, Director, NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences), Karnataka State Department of Primary and Secondary Education ordered a ban on online classes for children from KG to class 5.

During this Covid-19 pandemic, many industries are going through an unprecedented challenge of adapting to new methods of operation & sustaining in the present. The education industry is evolving to match the requirements of the learners & to provide unrestricted access to learn from anywhere. However, the Karnataka State Government has outrightly banned online classes for students till class 5th, leaving many parents & children in a dilemma.

This ban shows the unpreparedness of the authorities & even raises concerns about the spontaneous decision taken, which highlights the gaps in education planning by the State Board.

Parents are questioning the State Education Board on why was the planning for the situation delayed & now how do they plan to resolve the below points:

A.)  Provision of required infrastructure for  students & teachers

B.)  Comprehensive and Realistic Curriculum Planning

C.)  Online Engagement of students to provide a wholesome learning experience

Students across the globe and nation are adapting to the new age learning methods & are curiously exploring the change.
Learning should not be restricted, especially for the budding generation - it should be accessible & boundless.

Let's join our voices & let the authorities hear our unanimous need to "Not ban but Lets Plan.
