Instead of Nothing, have Something to keep the KG to Class 5 Students in the track.

The Issue

Learning is an essential and continuous process. Since lock-down students have been aloof of studying, especially students of L.K.G to class 5, as they are yet to understand the importance of education and its impact.

  1. Reputed institutions have been conducting online classes without extra charges to promote learning process.
  2. Parents/Guardians are skeptical about admission as the Government has ordered not to start schools and online classes. Financial crisis is directly affecting livelihoods of people working in the institutions that is teaching and non-teaching staff members including housekeeping staff members. However, keeping Covid situation in consideration schools have not hiked fees and have given time extension to ease financial burden to the Parents.
  3. Using Mass media and Technology based education is a commendable move at this time of pandemic where our safety is at a threat.
  4. The proposed platforms are noble and K.G classes to class 5 are more adaptive and receptive to the proposed media of education. Depriving the right to learn is unjustifiable.
  5. It is high time that Indian Parents and Educationists consider technology-based learning not as an alternative but to be inclusive of formal education.
  6. Our Prime Minister is keen on Digitizing the economy, Trade, Banking sector and Essential services to citizens through online platform. Is it not appropriate time to give a huge push to technology-based education to revolutionize Education System and introduce Self-Driven Education?
  7. The committee appointed to draft the guidelines should also include Technical Specialist who would be able to assess feasibility and accessibility of the technology to the masses.
  8. The Covid situation has given the opportunity to re-look into our education system. Globally Digital learning has been booming. Though we have smart classes in urban and sub-urban schools, it is not extrinsic. We recommend e-learning online and offline tools to reinforce and reiterate formal education to ensure quality education across the state irrespective of Urban or rural area.
  9. We echo the farsightedness to promote virtual classroom education. The changes should be imminent and Bengaluru being the Silicon Valley, Karnataka should lead the country to revolutionizing the education system in India.
  10. The Government is committed and has shown leadership quality by not cancelling the Examination which could affect the quality of education and future of students.
  11. We propose the learning from the committee should also set up guidelines to include students of KG classes to class 5 to keep the students interested in learning process.

To conclude, the new generation is savvier than the adults. We should encourage online learning which would transform electronic gadgets as learning gadgets which would open enormous learning opportunities at the early stage of student’s life.
