make kappa alpha theta accessible to non-binary students

The Issue

Currently, only students who identify as women are able to join Kappa Alpha Theta at UCSB. I believe that all students are important and worthy of being a part of a community. Systematic injustice for trans people needs to end, and this would allow for a more inclusive, less cishet centered system in Greek life.

Non-binary people should be able to choose whether or not they should be in Greek life, we should not decide for them by excluding them. Kappa Alpha Theta does not stand for injustice and being a leader, lover, and powerful person is not embedded in womanhood, but in all gender identities. We are only made more powerful by diversity, and as society changes, we have a responsibility to change too. As a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Gamma Rho Chapter UCSB, I, Charlotte Sabina, encourage other members to sign this petition in the name of change, leadership, and inclusivity.
