18 years ago in 2003 ,my husband Gerald A. Wright Jr. #41332018 was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for a low level non-violent crack cocaine base offence.
February 8,2021 his sentence was reduced to 25 years due to the first step act (FSA) reducing the crack - powder disparity from 100:1 to 18:1
During Gerald's incarceration he has equipped himself with the skills to become successful and to help him display ethical behavior in society . He has taken numerous course's that will help him in the future to make rational decisions and combat criminal thinking .Gerald is constantly self examining ,self analyzing and applying self correction to himself to be a better person .
Gerald has six children , 4 boys and 2 girls . Despite him being incarcerated for the past 18 years ,he has remained to the best of his ability a great father figure to his children .We all miss him more then words can ever explain .Gerald has always played an important role in our lives ,guiding us to be the best that we can be ,so that we can become successful and always telling us to never sacrifice our morals and values and to always stay positive in any situation .Gerald's record while in prison proves that he has made changes necessary in his life to be a better man to be a productive member in society a asset to his community , a husband ,father and grand father when released.

I also want to add Gerald's mother was killed when he was 11 years old and his father died when he was 13 years old so Gerald grew up with out any parents for (guidance), but he has never used that as an excuse .Now the man that killed his mother received 15 years for the murder, but on the other hand Gerald was convicted for a low level non-violent Drug offence that he received 30 years for. where is the justice in that ??
