Many people don't know a lot about brown culture. We believe a brown heritage month could help change other's views of Pakistanis, Indians, Bengalis, and any other country who would want to join us!

Brown people are misunderstood a lot based on a lack of knowledge of their culture and beliefs. If we had some kind of way to help spread this knowledge then everyone will be more connected to each other than ever before!

There seems to be a Black History Month, and Latin American and Native American heritage month, but nothing for brown people. We technically have an "Asian pacific heritage month" but China, Japan, and Korea are a lot different from Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.

There are a lot of stereotypes about our people and culture. Many Brown people are thought to be nerds and/or scammers and many other hurtful things. While this may apply to some of us, the majority are just normal, misunderstood people, trying to survive like everyone else.

According to Wikipedia, Indians are the fastest-growing ethnic group in the U.S, it’s only fair that we get represented. Even though others have this idea floating around that Indians are some special being that can win any spelling bee, or get into any college, we are much more than that. Having something like a Brown Heritage month will help squash any stereotypes or misconceptions and ultimately change the way people from the Indian subcontinent are viewed.
