Hi all. I have contacted Kabam and let them know about the petition. I sent it via the forum support link, so lets see what happens. If I get nowhere with that, I will send it again to a different department. Also, we need to share the petition on the Reddit and Kabam forums. Sharing the direct link on reddit is fine, but don't get yourself banned from the Kabam forums, so just tell people to google "Kabam stop the update Marvel" to find the petition. Below is a copy of what I sent. Here's hoping they send us a decent reply, and not an automated one. Dear Kabam I would like to bring to your attention a community petition that has been created over the last week. It was started on the day you announced the forthcoming changes and nerfs to MCOC. Firstly, thousands of people are very angry and disappointed at the changes. That such a huge decision has been made, without any warning or input from the community itself. The "compensation" packages are frankly embarrasing. Why have you decided to make the top end of the packages for just over 75k ratings?! How can you justify giving the same compensation to both a 75k rated player and a 250k rated player?! Secondly, how do you plan on reimbursing the hundreds and thousands in currency spent by many players buying sig stones, awakening gems, daily crystals etc for champions who are no longer going to be anywhere near as great as they were!? Will we all be getting back our sig stones and awakening gems, if we decide say that our Thor is no longer desirable or useful enough? I, for one, can guarantree you that had I know these nerfs were coming in, I definately would NOT have bought the recent sig stone packages and poured them into my SW and Ultron. There are many other reasons that I could touch upon, as to why some of these nerfs should not take place. The effects go far beyond just the monetary value. I have read from many members who have signed the petition, that these champs are the only hope they get at a level playing field. This is in regards to the many users who have physical disabilities. One user who has disabilities in his hands, finds that champs like SW and Thor help him to get through some of the story quests and try stay on an even keel with other able bodied users. This seems to lots like a blatant "bait and switch". A money making orientated move, which will not only will affect mostly your oldest and loyal users,but also the newer players who rely on these champs to try and compete with the higher players! After all, its not like the AW matchmaking is exactly fair , is it?? Many users feel like they have been robbed. Robbed of their time, effort and hard earned money. You must be able to see why, no? You have advertised and sold champions as one thing, with certain sets of skills, and then have decided to completely change them 2yrs on! This has been likened to fraud and misrepresentation by many users. But its ok hey, its all in the small print! Please may I give u an example. You go to the local garage. They sell you this lovely v12 powered vehicle. Youre very happy with the car. Over the next 2 years you spend lots of money improving your car, adding bits here and there to the engine, and other areas to improve the speed and power of the car. Then, all of a sudden, the garage owner arrives at your door, and announces he is removing the v12 engine from your car, including any upgrades you made, and replacing it with a 1.0 litre engine! Yeah sure, it may LOOK the same, but it will be NOWHERE near as powerful! The champions that we use in the game, have had set abilities for a long time, and to go ahead now and turn these abilities on their heads is a slap in the face of your loyal players. What about the players who have spent money on upgrades/sig stones/awakening gems/etc. Only to have their favourite players nerfed beyond recognition. We understand the need to make the game fairer, as was done recently with the downgrade of the Willpower mastery. Even to upgrade some of the lesser champs that are used is understandable. But to lessen the very abilities that these champions rely on, is unfair and unjust. We implore you to halt the upcoming update. Revisit these changes. This feels like a money making move. It may not seem like much to any newcomers to the game, but long standing members can see this is catastrophic. This may lead to many leaving the game. Please send me a reply I can share with the petition signees. Just to let you know there have been just over 10 thousand participants, in the few days! And that is just me introducing it to a couple of facebook pages! Have not yet shared it via forums, reddit, etc to reach out to the other thousands of upset players. We would like to, as a community, invite you to look again at these changes. Go ahead and upgrade the lesser used champs, but please don't nerf the best of them! Champions within the Marvel universe were not created as equals, and therefore should be represented as such within the game too! Please reply to the questions we have put to you regarding the refund of sig stones, awakening gems. daily specials and funds used to buy these items. How do you feel knowing that these nerfs are going to affect the disabled contingent of players in quite a bad way? Please do not send us an automated response.
