We are longtime and loyal Fogheads, which you may not know means listeners of KFOG radio. KFOG is a local treasure and a nationally recognized legacy radio station – it’s in the hall of fame. What has always made KFOG unique is its incredibly talented on-air staff, DJ's who could not only curate fantastic music for us, but also were invested in their local community and interacted with us regularly. We are writing to demand that you reinstate the recently terminated DJ’s Annalisa, Dred Scott, Renee, Rosalie, and Webster, and that you restore the shows like 10@10, Connected, and Acoustic Sunrise/Sunset – the things that make KFOG what it is. You may cite poor ratings as your rationale for the bloodbath last Thursday. However, if you follow the ratings history since Cumulus started messing with this station, you will see that all your changes have done is hurt the station. If you go through with this “Evolution” on 4/20, you will have to start out by building a listener base from scratch, versus building on the solid, loyal base that is there, as we will all leave KFOG behind. A few years ago, you did the right things by getting rid of a new DJ, Twitch, who was a terrible fit for San Francisco and KFOG, and you have done right by KGO listeners by putting Ronn Owens back where he belongs. Now we request that you do right by KFOG and your long-time listeners and rehire the all the KFOG DJ’s you fired on March 31. Do the right thing by KFOG, and the listeners will come back.
