During this pandemic all Health Workers ( HCA, RCA, LPN, RN.....) are working day and night. There are staff shortages in Hospitals/Long Term care homes, work stress level is high and the workers are even sacrificing their vacations for the care of the seniors by keeping themselves under High risk to get infected. There are lots of cases wherein Health care staff is getting sick or infected while giving care to the patients/residents/seniors.

Federal Govt has doubled the Student Loan grants for the new students entering into the health worker programs and even in some cases grants are more than the actual program cost. Everything being done is for the future health workers which is good but nothing is for health care staff (HCA/LPN/RN) who are working day & night in this crises/pandemic. Federal govt only announced relief from interest and no monthly payments for 6 months which is nothing as compared to the program announced for the new students.

With this petition I want highlight to the Federal & Provincial Govt to bring up some program to issue grants/loan waiver in appreciation for the existing staff working during this pandemic. This will boost the motivation level for all the health workers.
