I was born and raised in Turkey but have been studying in Canada for over three years. I love the nature of Canada and I admire how well it is protected. Turkey also hosts beautiful nature but it is not protected. We are losing more of it every year. I grew up hearing about how beautiful Mount Ida is. I never had the chance to visit it. I might never have the chance to visit unless we all take action to stop the Toronto based mining company, Alamos Gold Inc., from destroying the forest of Mount Ida. 195,000 trees are already cut down for their project. If they continue, Mount Ida will turn into desert and I will never have the chance to see how beautiful it is.
